Why can't I save the changes to employees addresses?

Whenever I try to change an employees address it won't let me save it. I am trying to change from a physical address to a PO box.

Hi there, @troublefreeaccounting. I'm here to help you change your employee address in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

To begin, could you tell me if you encounter any error messages when trying to save the changes when attempting to edit the employee's address? Any additional information is a great help so I can provide a timely solution.

 

In the meantime, let's try to change the info via an incognito browser. This is a private mode that does not store cache and will give you a clean slate to prevent unexpected issues. Below are the shortcut keys you can use:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

 

Sign in to your QBO account and navigate to the Payroll tab to start editing the employee's address. If you've successfully saved the changes, I recommend clearing the cache of your regular browser. This is one of its components that speeds up the loading process but sometimes gets corrupted causing odd behaviors when accessing web-based programs. If the same thing happens, you could use another supported browser or device.

Since the troubleshooting steps weren't able to fix it, I recommend contacting the QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll Care Team. They have the complete tools to pull up your account in a safe environment and find the exact fix. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. In the upper right corner click the (?) Help icon.
  2. Tap the Contact Us tab below the prompt box.
  3. Select Ask about something else.
  4. Type in a brief description of the issue. Then, Continue.
  5. Choose how would you want to connect with us. Either Chat or Callback.
