Why doesNJ Income tax payment now come up under the heading of tax withdrawals and is listed as Quickbooks payroll tax withdrawal and will no longer export to QB desktop?

Hello there, @officesomerspointmarina.

I'll be sharing some latest information regarding the changes in the automated tax withdrawal feature in QuickBooks Online.

The advantages of automated taxes and forms are part of your QuickBooks Online Payroll subscription without any additional charges. QuickBooks will help you manage tax payments and meet filing deadlines by automatically handling your tax payments and filings. This feature can help prevent missed payroll tax payments caused by insufficient funds.

However, this feature is currently unavailable in New Jersey. Since your income tax payments are appearing under the category of tax withdrawals, I suggest contacting QuickBooks Online Payroll Support. They will use their tools to diagnose and address the issue. They will work diligently to identify the cause and provide a solution. If needed, they will conduct a further investigation.

Here's how to set up QuickBooks Online Payroll:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company.
  2. Go to Help (?) and select Contact Us.
  3. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  4. Select the preferred method of contact (phone or chat).

To learn more about automated tax withdrawals, please refer to this article: Changes with automated tax withdrawals in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, here are some articles that can help you pay and file payroll taxes and forms electronically using QuickBooks Online Payroll. You can also find information on which payroll taxes and forms QuickBooks Payroll manages and files on your behalf:

I'm always available to assist with payroll taxes in QuickBooks Online Payroll. Feel free to notify me in this thread, and I'll be there to support you!

Why doesNJ Income tax payment now come up under the heading of tax withdrawals and is listed as Quickbooks payroll tax withdrawal and will no longer export to QB desktop?

the state income tax payments have always been withdrawn weekly with each payroll, so the only difference I can see is that intuit changed the header and the name of the payment so that now it will not export, even though the payment is still being withdrawn out of my bank account but under a different name.
