Welcome to the Community, @kristenwood77.
As of the moment, we have not received updates if the payroll taxes based on the President's Executive order will be auto-adjusted in QBO.
We stay compliant with the tax laws and any recent changes. Rest assured that we will keep you posted once they are implemented.

Updates for payroll system accounting for this issue, would be much appreciated here... Thank you!!
Clients are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity but do not want to create a lot of extra payroll administrative work to do so. Will QuickBooks be offering an option for them to defer these payroll tax withholdings and/or payments?
Hello there, @JAZ56.
Currently, we don't have any updates in QuickBooks if the payroll taxes will be auto-adjusted based on the President's Executive order. If the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will publish for the update, that would be the time QuickBooks will check for updates and make changes.

This order will go into effect in two days when can we expect an update.
There needs to be an opt out option since my employees want to continue taking out payroll taxes from their checks.
Good Evening, @ronmatt1000.
Congrats on making your first post here in the Community. I'll send feedback to our Product Developers so that they can consider this as an option for one of the upcoming releases.

Here is the IRS guidance https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/n-20-65.pdf
Any feedback from QB on automating this?
Hello, @Stepheni.
Let me share some information about the implementation of the new Payroll Tax Deferment program in your QuickBooks Online Payroll account.
Currently, our Payroll Compliance teams are working closely with the IRS still to determine the accurate process and specifics of this tax deferral. Also, the US Treasury is working on issuing guidance surrounding the implementation of the deferral and we will continue to keep our customers up to date with the latest information. Once updates are available, you'd receive an email notification about it. Also, it will be applied directly to your account.
On the other hand, you can set up QuickBooks to defer your employer portion of the Social Security liability. Here's how:
You can read through these articles for more detailed instructions:
Also, I've added these articles that you can use as additional reference in managing your business during these challenging times:

Is this payroll tax deferral optional for employees making $104k or less? If so, how do we let QB payroll know whether an employee wants to or doesn't want to defer? Is QB going to be tracking the deferral between Sept 1 and Dec 30 and automatically creating the payback between Jan 1 and April 30? This has already started so I think we all need to know the answers to these questions!
I agree with ronmatt - our 8 employees do not want this optional deferral so we will need guidance and the ability to meet these employees needs.
I just called the hotline at the end of the notice 2020-65 and the tax deferral is optional by the employer, meaning the employer gets to choose whether or not to allow the employees to defer, so at some point QB is going to have to ask us if we are choosing to defer or not defer the employee payroll taxes. If a company chooses to allow deferral, they will need to ask each employee (who qualifies) whether or not they actually want their taxes to be deferred, so that will require some additional checkboxes on anyone making less than $104k annually. Will these questions automatically appear when we run our first payroll in September?
We are aware of the new payroll tax cut announced by President Trump, lsefcik.
Our Product Team is still working to implement the employee tax deferral order. And, we don't have the estimated time on when this will be available in QuickBooks.
As soon as this feature is available, we will notify this thread. You can also visit our QuickBooks blog to keep you in the loop with the latest features and improvements in the system.
Stay tuned for updates. Let me know if there's anything else you need. I'm always glad to help.
Yes - PLEASE make it possible for employers to opt out of this deferment entirely. None of our employees want this and there seems to be no way to override it currently.
Also - it is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING that we can no longer get live help! It is well within business hours and no live chat is available. Why is our cost the same but the customer service completely deminished? VER FRUSTRATING!
What is the update on allowing employers to opt out of the tax deferment? You posted a week ago that Intuit was "working on it." Since we can't speak live to anyone anymore (event the "live chat" feature doesn't seem to available), our only recourse is this forum. I have to run payroll again on 9/16 and MY EMPLOYEES DO NOT WANT THIS!
Please provide updates on this for Quickbooks online and the desktop version.
Thank you
