Good day, @ladam-morgan.
I have some insight to offer you on processing 1099 forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO). At this time, QBO only supports the preparing and filing of the 1099-MISC form. I agree that having the ability to process the 1099-INT form would be a great addition to QuickBooks, so I'm going to prepare a feedback report to send up to our Development Team. We hold great value in the opinions of our users when it comes to improving QBO, and I greatly appreciate your contributions to this development process.
In the meantime, I strongly recommend checking out our common questions about 1099's article. This guide contains information on expense and vendor reporting that may help you if you decide to prepare and process the form manually.
Please know you can always find me here for all of your QuickBooks questions, the Community will have your back. Thanks for dropping in and have a wonderful rest of your week.
Agreed. This is an issue.
I brought this up for the past 2 years! Seems QBO isn’t interested in supporting 1099INT
Hi there, @WhiskyBeanCounter.
I appreciate the feedback you've added. Allow me to step in and provide some insights about the 1099-INT.
As mentioned by my colleague, the option to prepare and file the 1099-INT is currently unavailable.
We value your willingness to help us improve our products. I'm going to personally send this suggestion to our product engineers for this to get more votes. Doing this helps them understand where we can improve and what features should be added so we can better serve you.
You can track the status of this QBO feature request through this link: 1099-INT Request. Also, you can check this link to get the latest news and updates about our products and services: The QuickBooks Blog.
Of course, you can always drop by here in the Community for any questions you need help with. I'm still here to help you. Have a good one.
I too am dismayed that a program as QuickBooks doesn't support 1099-Int. quite puzzled.....
Hi @Haskel,
Thanks for sharing to us how important this form to your business.
You can add your feedback to the link above and I will also do my part in sending this feature request. We make sure any suggestions you have will reach to our developers.
Please let me know if you need assistance with something else. I'm always glad to help. Have a nice day.
I would also like to express my interest in having QBO process 1099-INT. Perhaps if the developers see enough demand, they will make it a priority for next year.
Hi there, Colleen.
We have a feature request website which you can vote a request that's already submitted . The more votes or request we get about a specific feature, the more likely it will be implemented on future updates.
Let me route you to this link: https://feedback.qbo.intuit.com/forums/168199-quickbooks-online-feature-requests.
You can always ask questions in the Community should you need help with QuickBooks Online. See you!
I am not able to vote for this, but after convincing a client to get onto QuickBooks Online and agreeing to do his 1099's, I really hope this becomes a feature. Shame on me for not realizing it was not in there. Thank you.
Hello, @christinakcpa.
I appreciate the intent to submit a product request for 1099 INT. While we do not support this form at the moment, you can access them on the IRS website.
We'd also love to have this feature in our program, so I'm personally sending this request to our developers for consideration.
In the meantime, I recommend checking out our common questions about 1099's article. In this link, you'll learn more about how to run the vendor's report if you decide to prepare and process the form manually.
Please let me know if you need assistance with something else. I'm always glad to help. Have a nice day.
Any updates on this issue? Would love to file our 1099-INTs electronically this month!
This is a serious frustration. The lack of support doesn’t just mean we have to file a paper form, but Quickbooks not distinguishing which 1099 it was filing means we are now having to figure out how to file a correction of the MISC form as an INT form. Extremely frustrating!
I have interest payments that I make to vendors every year. I have previously just used 1099Misc as that is the only choice. These vendors report the income as interest income on their tax return as that is what it is. The IRS challenged them as they didn't report 1099 Misc income for that year because i sent them and the IRS a 1099MISC. They had to reply back to the IRS that it was reported but as interest income. Pretty poor way of doing business as I pay Quickbooks at least $600 a year for program and service.
Yes. I agree. I just used the 1099tax program but had to enter the numbers in the 1099 int form myself. I had already done it last year so just had to add the 2020 interest in the right box! Should be easier!

Quickbooks Online, please add this features. The fact that you can do 1099-MISC but not 1099-INT is strange. The process should be fairly similar. Please add this for 2021.
