Disappointed in Intuit/QB. Today got email saying "QuickBooks Desktop Payroll now enables the Paycheck Protection Program loan application process within QuickBooks Capital. As a payroll customer, we can simplify the process by using your QuickBooks Desktop Payroll information." It went on to say "You can complete your application now and, if we are able, we will submit your application to the Small Business Administration should additional funds become available. Given the large demand for any such additional funds, and limits on our funding capacity, not every qualified Paycheck Protection Program applicant will receive a loan." I was pretty excited...and followed the directions in the email. Only to find that Intuit has not readied QB Desktop Payroll for applications to be accepted. I've attached a copy of the screen.
When will this be fixed? Messaging with Intuit Social Media person said " The email was sent to let everyone know that the Desktop portion of the program will be available in the very near future." Since when does "NOW" mean "The very near future?"
No matter when you can submit within QB it will take an act if Congress to provide any more funds for this program. After allocating $349 billion they are tapped out and thecSBA is not accepting ANY applications until further notice.
We're glad to hear that you were able to submit your Payroll Protection Program application this morning.
As for the email you mentioned @rsleonard, QuickBooks is accepting applications in the hopes of further funding from the government. I suggest trying to apply again, so your application is on file when more money becomes available.
I'm always here to lend a helping hand if you have any other questions. Take care.
Regarding the application for the PPP loan, I've followed the instructions precisely and still there is no "Start today" button or Quickbooks Capital banner. I can click "Learn More" within the Be ready... modal. Initially, this would take me to a page where I could select "Sign In" but that would take me right back to the top of that first page again. Now when I select "Learn More" is takes me to the page "Update Quickbooks Desktop to the latest release" (which I have done already) but there is nothing there regarding PPP application. Can you help?
I appreciate you for updating your QuickBooks file, rohrcomone.
I've checked on my end for any outstanding investigation about the Start button. However, there's none as of this time.
Let's isolate this issue by resetting the updates. I'll show you how:
Then, let's close and reopen the file again. Afterward, let's check to see if the Start today option now appears.
I've also added this article for the detailed steps when setting up a PPP Loan: Apply for the PPP loan within QuickBooks Capital.
Please let me know as to how this troubleshooting step works on your end. Stay safe!
I am in the same boat- I have updated the software, the payroll system a number of times, there is no more to update.
No change to the interface. There is only a "LEARN MORE" link to the same information. This is not working. There is also no support? i thought I paid for support, and the only phone number I can find is the "SALES" phone number that goes into a robot voice. So strange.
Thanks for joining in on the thread, RSalmon.
After updating the QuickBooks release version and the Payroll Tax table version, have you tried closing and reopening the program? This would refresh QuickBooks and apply all those updates.
If the same thing happens, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. They can pull up your account and review what is happening. Also, they can provide additional troubleshooting steps if necessary.
Let us know if you need anything else.
I did a number of times – we use the network version, all users are off as well.
I just had my IT guy reset the file to see if that will help, and it did. I feel like we have a problem with our multi-user mode, it keeps going to single user mode and does not switch back unless my IT guy runs a scan
Thank you for your feedback about how to reach help. I will be reaching out!
I Have QB desktop 2019 with enhanced payroll. Below is the error message I get when I click on the "start now" under the yellow Paycheck Protection Banner on the bottom left.
"We are hard at work to expand our ability to serve other eligible Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) applicants. We are currently not able to accept and process PPP applications from anyone other than certain QuickBooks customers. Please check back with us soon or see here for other lenders that may be able to assist. Learn more about PPP eligibility."
Who is eligible? I am a "C" corp but the only owner. Customer service yesterday (chat) wasted FOUR hours of my time and did not have a clue what I was talking about!
Hello, @Anna S
We applied for the loan but got a decline for PPP. When I look up our business, we are eligible per the exceptions in the ineligible. I have been trying to contact someone for help, but I can't seem to get a hold of anyone. Who can I contact about this issue?
Hello there, Gabor.
I suggest getting in touch with us so we can look into our phone support team so we can further look into your account. We'll also look into the requirements with regard to our legibility. Here's how:

If you have other questions, you always get back to me. Take care!
Thank you for the answer back so quickly. I tried QB's Help but they did not understand what I was talking about. I said I was questioning the eligibility of PPP and they said they didn't know. Not sure how they are supposed to help if they don't know?
Do you have someone directly I can email?
Thanks for replying to this thread, @NM2004.
I understand how the COVID-19 crisis affects your small business due to lock-down. I would be happy to discuss your situation in more detail in a Private Message. I will send you a message, and we can continue our conversation there.
I look forward to chatting with you soon.
I received an email Saturday that my PPP application required attention. I immediately signed in and filled out the required information. I received an email again last night as a reminder to sign in and fill out the information, otherwise my application won't be submitted. I need to know if this is in error or if my application has been submitted!!!
I tried calling into customer service, and that number disconnects and says to use the chat feature in QB online. The person on QB online can't help me, and gives a link to the PPP service line, of which I have had my message sitting un-replied to for over an hour.
Im getting increasingly concerned about this getting submitted!! PLEASE HELP!
Hi there, BRYANK.
Thanks for stopping by the QuickBooks Community with your questions. In regards to your email you received, that was sent out because we had to update the terms and conditions to the product. As far as your PPP application, I just sent you a Private Message, there, we can look into whats going on and get to the bottom of the issue.
Thank you for your patience during these unprecedented times.
I look forward to working with you in PM
Good evening, @NM2004.
Thanks for following up on the thread.
Before going into detail, I want to ask if you mean the Private Message (PM) that was sent to you?
If so, I can show you how to check your PMs in the Community. Here's how:
That should do it. Once you've followed the steps above, you'll be able to view your Private Messages.
If you have any more questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to comment below. Have a good one!
So I received numerous emails, texts, and calls from Quickbooks Online Payroll about my PPP application. When I logged on to address the issue I get the "We got you covered" landing page saying they handled it. I also have 2 other applications out in the wild with Chase and Paypal. My concern is Quickbooks shoves my app through to the SBA and gets a loan number and then Quickbooks comes back and denies me the loan because they did not get what they were looking for in the first place. I am able to check the SBA capital access web site and I do see I have a PPP loan on my account waiting to be disbursed. I tried the chat feature in my Quickbooks Online Payroll account to ask what was needed and if they can tell me if my app was approved through Quickbooks capital and all I get is an I don't know you have to wait.
Can the moderator tell me if my application was approved by quickbooks online capital and would they deny me even if SBA already assigned a loan (E-tran) to my account based on the Quickbooks Online PPP aplication?
Thanks for stopping by the Community. I'm more than happy to help you today. I just sent you a private message, there we can further chat about the statues of your PPP loan.
Thanks again and have a nice afternoon.
Hi there, kaddywampus. Thanks for bringing this to the attention of the Community.
I've gone ahead and sent you a private message where we can discuss the status of your Paycheck Protection Program application in further detail. I'll be looking forward to helping you there.
