Has quickbooks adjusted for the Canada Covid-19 Economic Response Plan? For example the 10% payroll subsidy that the federal government announced this week.

I appreciate there's a lot of uncertainty right now and that changes are coming in about how businesses are able to move forward in the wake of COVID-19. I'm glad to hear that you'll have access to the payroll subsidy announced by our government and I want to assure you that QuickBooks knows about this as well. Here's where we are with it.

 

Whether you're using Standard or Advanced Payroll, QuickBooks Online is exploring the ways to implement the subsidy in our system. We're working closely with Canadian Payroll Association to navigate this situation to make sure you have the best solution for including the subsidy in your books. We rely on the CPA for guidance and direction for legislative matters such as this to ensure the details are right. The CPA is working with the CRA for this matter as well.

 

Once we have those details, our engineers will work on coding them into our system and Intuit will be reaching out to customers with the next steps. We know how important it is to be up-to-date with these things and are working as quickly as possible to make it happen. In the meantime, please process payroll as usual.
