Forgive my ignorance but I am not an accountant or bookkeeper, I am a grade school teacher and I am trying to help in our business with PPP loan.  We use the listings of wages, employer taxes, fed taxes (941/944)...my question is-in calculating documents to prepare to apply for forgiveness what parts of these payroll items do I include?  Also, can I include cell phone allowance as “other compensation”  since employees use their phones for on-call time?

I have tried unsuccessfully to pull reports off QBDT to help me with the Payroll Costs for the PPP.  These reps at Intuit have no idea and should not be answering any questions regarding PPP.  I was able to pull off what I needed from ADP and am preparing my own Excel spreadsheet to track the costs, including the non-Payroll Cost figures. 

 

At this point I am already extremely upset with Intuit for increasing my ProAdvisor fees over $300 from last year to this year.  Shame on you Intuit for doing this to people in this economy.  Shame on you also for not having proper reports.

Question im hoping someone will know the answer to....

What report do i generate from quickbooks exactly when providing the ppp

with the history of what i paid employees  during the months of feb, mar, and april?

 

Ive been looking on the website and havent found exactly what report i need to generate. 

 

Any Help would greatly be appreciated. Much Thanks

If you're using QBO Payroll, you can use use the Payroll Summary by Employee report. This will give you a comprehensive details of the employee's wages, deductions, and tax information based on the date or period selected.

 

 

Here's how to open it:

 

  1. Go to the Reports menu.,
  2. Go to the Search field and type in Payroll Summary by Employee
  3. Customize the date range and other fields. 
  4. Click Run report to refresh. 
  5. You can export the report to Excel by clicking the Share drop-down at the upper-right. 

You might also want to check out other payroll reports that can help us extract the information needed for the application. 

 

If you have QuickBooks Desktop, you can use the Payroll Detail Review report to get the same information. Just go to the Reports menu, scroll-down to Employees and Payroll, and then click Payroll Detail Review

There's no specific timeline since the approval of the loan will depend on the Government Agency.

As much I would like to help you get a copy of the documentation used for applying for PPP loan, this requires pulling up your account which we're unable to do it here in the Community, for security purposes.

 

That said, I highly suggest contacting our Payroll Support team. They have tools that can check your account in a secure environment and help you get a copy of the documentation.
