I am running Quickbooks Enterprise 2019 Contractor edition. We need the FTE hours calculations in order to complete the PPP loan forgiveness report. It would be great it Quickbooks would set up a template for what is required and make it available to the users.
Quickbooks has an exact template to meet your needs! You’ll want to run a Total Hours a Worked by Employee Report, which pulls the information from your books to generate that document. Here’s how: 1. In the menu bar at the top, go to Reports, Employees & Payroll, then Payroll Item Detail. 2. Hit Customize Report. 3. Open the Display tab. In the Columns list, pick Qty. 4. In the Total By area, click on Employee. 5. Access the Filters tab and tick Payroll Item in the Filter list. 6. Choose the specific item associated from the drop-down menu. If there's more than one type of hourly payroll item, go with the Multiple payroll items option. 7. Select Ok. 8. Adjust the date range as needed.
Now you''ve produced a total hours worked by employee report which will display the FTE hours worked by an employee on a full-time basis.
Here's a few resources that may come in handy while seeking forgiveness for your PPP loan:
I have a question about FTE calculations report. So FTE report is requested weekly for the January 1st 2020 and weekly at the end of covered period that for me is October 16th, 2020. My payroll is biweekly so how do i do my final calculations ? Just the export the report in excel and adjust it manually ?
You can consider running the Payroll Item Detail report and export it to Excel. Then run the Payroll Summary report for reference for your FTE calculations. This report shows you the hours for each employee during the time period. Let me show you how.
Go to the Reports menu in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) software.
Click the Exceldrop-down menu and select CreateNewWorksheet.
Open the Excel file and adjust the calculations.
Then run the PayrollSummary report (repeat steps1-2).
With this, I’d recommend working with your accountant for advice in making those changes. This way, we can ensure your FTE is properly recorded. If you’re not affiliated with one, you can visit our ProAdvisor page and look for one from there.
