If your business is closed you can suspend your account easy enough and then restart when you are working again. You can use excel to record the one or two transactions during the next few months and add them in once you are up and running again.

Intuit probably rents office space instead of owning. They most certainly rent the space they use on the Amazon cloud for your company. Jeff Bezos would have to waive server fees and their landlords who have mortgage payments due would have to suspend office rent and as a landlord (not of Intuit) it ain't gonna happen since no bank will halt mortgage payments for businesses. They will be unable to foreclose for a month or few and might waive late fees but unfortunately business is business.

I just had my subscription payment come out automatically, $40  well better then $70 if i didnt lower my service plan to the QuickBooks Essentials plan, and thinking of going down to the simple start for $25. wasnt planning on $40 being taking out of my account today as Im trying to meet payroll tomorrow,  on an average day $40 was nothing, today its everything,  also suspending my subscription doesnt help as I need my service to keep up with people that owe,  or if that ( kind of insensitive comment, but i know you didnt mean it in a wrong way) 1 or 2 jobs that do come in over the next couple months, to have the resources to make them an invoice and bring up their product and past pricing,  and not to mention I am not sitting home as the business went completely silent, Im running reports to see which customers to reach out to, which industry typically orders from my business in march or april or may since 1997.  I chose the subscription option when they first offered it and the highest package was $40 i recall, well that went up to $70 over the past couple years.  Small business book keeping is essential to those trying to survive through these unknown days, weeks, months to come.

It always bothered me when I click the quickbooks icon to log in, the first thiong I see is the huge discounts offered to new customers for the first 3 months, I think if you are a customer they shouldnt blast that in your face several times a day.  I understand that quickbooks has overhead, and I'm almost sure with 100% certainty quick books will receive government aid , and a lot faster than a majority of their small business customers.  I think a great move for them as a service provider for small business is to maybe give us the 50% off  for the next few months to help us who support them all these years  attached is that add i see several times a day

Thanks Sasha. I will go look now. I wrote this post after talking with someone in your customer service department who said there was nothing they could do.

Thanks John for taking the time to reply. I'll look into the suspension. That wasn't an option customer service told me yesterday. They gave me no options, but only an "I'm sorry, there isn't anything we can do to help." I am assuming when I come back on, I won't need to "start all over" with the register and such? As far as business is business...Many businesses are helping out their customers. I've gotten help with Sprint, my electric company, Wells Fargo, Chase, UPS... They all are working with their customers. QB has been the only one saying no. Much thanks again.

I'VE BEEN A QB SUBSCRIBER ALONG WITH ENHANCED PAYROLL FOR 27 YEARS, IVE NEVER CHANGED.  MY BUSINESS WAS CLOSED BY GOVERNOR MANDATE FOR AT LEAST 4 WEEKS AS OF LAST MONDAY.  I'VE HAD TO PAY PAYROLL SO MY EMPLOYEES CAN SURVIVE, HOWEVER, I'M A SMALL BUSINESS AND DON'T HAVE LARGE AMOUNTS OF CASH TO FALL BACK ON.  I NEED QB'S HELP

YOU'RE INCORRECT, BANKS ARE EXTENDING DUE DATES ON MORTGAGES AND LOANS;  i.e., B OF A, US BANK AND WELLS FARGO ALL PUBLICIZED YESTERDAY THAT THEY WOULD EXTEND THOSE PAYMENTS TO A LATER DATE.

I am trying to afford to pay my 1 employee her regular wages during Covid-19, the amount we are paying in subscriptions is causing a financial hardship and impeding on my ability to help a person and not a corporation...And the same is true with my clients.  What is Intuit going to do to help??? They could easily adjust or subscription fees as though we are new customer and offer 50% off.... Disappointed in Intuit

@DSJOffice

For the time being, consider to utilize this 3rd party tool to migrate your data between QBO accounts.

https://transactionpro.grsm.io/qbo

Use promo code 20PERCENTOFF at checkout, valid until April 30th, 2020

Once you are ready to proceed, open a new QBO account with discounted price for up to 6 months.

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/US

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/us-promo

If you are able to run this process once, you may repeat it for every semester to minimize your cost.

Hope it helps.

Why are the responses being sent to individuals in private messages? This issue affects MANY of us. Quickbooks should do something to help with the monthly fees, without us begging. Step up to the plate Quickbooks!
