How QuickBooks Time handles Daylight Savings Time

SOLVEDby QuickBooks2Updated December 23, 2022

If you are in a location that observes Daylight Savings Time (DST) in the fall, you may have questions about how QuickBooks Time compensates for that repeated hour.

If you work through the DST hour change (for example, if you clock in at 8 PM and clock out at 4 AM, QuickBooks Time automatically adjusts the time on your time card, and continues to accurately record the hours you have worked.

If, after the time change, you want to manually add hours worked to a date that fell before the time change, enter the hours based on the actual clock time when the hours were worked.

For example: If DST was Sunday, November 1st, and you want to add a timesheet for 3-4 PM on the previous Friday, (before DST), enter the Friday hours as 4-5 PM.
