About SMS Reports

The SMS report gives you data on key metrics such as delivery rate, click rate, and revenue so you can see how your text messages perform. This information can help you increase engagement and target specific SMS contacts.
In this article, you’ll learn how to view and understand SMS reports.
Before you start
Here are some things to know before you begin this process.
- SMS Marketing is available as an add-on feature for customers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada with the Essentials plan or higher.

View an SMS report
There are 3 ways you can view the report for each SMS that you send.
SMS overview page
To view your SMS report from the SMS overview page, follow these steps.
- Click SMS, then click Overview.
- In the Recent messages section, find the sent SMS you want to work with.
- Click View report.
All campaigns page
To view your SMS report from the All campaigns page, follow these steps.
- Click Campaigns, then click All campaigns.
- Use the Type drop-down to select SMS.
- Find the SMS you want to work with, then click View report.
Reports page
To view your SMS report from the Reports page, follow these steps. Draft messages won't appear on the Reports page.
- Click Analytics, then click Reports.
- In the View by Type options, click SMS.
- Find the SMS you want to work with, then click View Report.
About your SMS report
The SMS report includes an overview, a Monitor performance section, and a Recipient details section. The information in your SMS report is specific to your SMS Marketing program’s sending country.
SMS overview
The SMS overview includes the following information about your text message.
- The date and time your text message was sent.
- The name of your text message.
- The number of recipients.
- The phone number used to send the text message.
- The audience you sent your text message to.
- The amount of SMS credits used.
- A preview of your text message.
In the SMS Preview section, click View full message to view the text message and any media.
SMS credits are deducted from your available balance for each SMS and MMS that you attempt to send. To optimize your SMS credits, we suggest that you maintain an engaged SMS audience.
Monitor performance
The Monitor performance section displays 4 key engagement metrics with rates shown in percentages.
- Sent
The number of subscribed contacts a message was sent to. - Delivery rate
The percentage of messages that were successfully delivered to a recipient. - Click rate
The percentage of successfully delivered messages that registered a click. - Unsubscribed rate
The percentage of subscribed contacts who unsubscribed from a successfully delivered message.
If you have a connected Shopify store, you can also include e-commerce metrics.
- Revenue
The money attributed to an SMS, minus taxes and shipping fees. - Orders
A count of the orders placed by customers, including refunded or canceled orders. - Average order revenue
The amount of revenue divided by the number of orders.
To choose a different metric to display, click Edit, click the metric you want to replace, then choose a new metric from the drop-down. When you're satisfied, click Save.
Recipient details
The Recipient details section includes the following information about your SMS recipients.
- Phone number
The mobile number of the recipient. - First name
The first name of the recipient. - Last name
The last name of the recipient. - Location
The state and/or country where the contact lives, if the data is available. - Clicks
The number of recipients who clicked any tracked link, any number of times, in a single message. - Delivered
“Yes” in this column means the message was successfully delivered. “No” means the message bounced. - Unsubscribed
The number of recipients who opted out of receiving further messages within 24 hours of the message being sent.
Click the Filter by: drop-down to view a list of recipients for a specific metric.
To sort the data in ascending or descending order, click any column name. Delivered and unsubscribed data can’t be sorted.
To download the Recipient details section as a CSV file, click Export.
