Reconnect your Discover accounts after the Capital One migration in QuickBooks

by Intuit• Updated 2 weeks ago

Capital One is moving Discover bank accounts onto the Capital One platform in phases. If you have connected Discover accounts to your QuickBooks, you may be prompted to reconnect them so your bank feed keeps working.

What you’ll need

  • An active QuickBooks subscription.
  • A Discover account connected to QuickBooks affected by this migration. To check if your Discover accounts are affected, open them in Discover Web and see if they were migrated to Capital One.

Note: If you hold multiple Discover accounts, they may not be migrated at the same time. If that is the case, you'll need to maintain both the Discover and Capital One connections until all are migrated.

Reconnect some of your Discover accounts

First, try to reconnect your existing Discover account connections. Use these steps if you can reconnect some of your existing Discover accounts, but one or more new accounts need to be added under Capital One.

  1. Go to All apps A bunch of numbers and letters on a tile wall., then Accounting, then Bank transactions (Take me there).
  2. Find your Discover connection and select Edit, then Edit sign-in info.
  3. Disconnect each account  that has been migrated already under the Discover connection.
  4. Select Link account.
  5. Search for and select the Capital One listing.
  6. Sign in with your Capital One credentials and follow the prompts to add your accounts.

Reconnect all of your Discover accounts under Capital One

If none of your Discover accounts can be reconnected, disconnect the Discover connection, then add all your accounts under the Capital One listing.

  1. Go to All apps A bunch of numbers and letters on a tile wall., then Accounting, then Bank transactions (Take me there).
  2. Find your Discover connection and select Edit, then Edit sign-in info.
  3. Disconnect each account under the Discover connection.
  4. Select Link account.
  5. Search for and select the Capital One listing.
  6. Sign in with your Capital One credentials and follow the prompts to add your accounts.

Results

Your newly connected accounts start pulling transactions into QuickBooks under the Capital One connection.  Your transaction history stays in QuickBooks.

Next steps

Some accounts may continue working as-is until Capital One moves them, so you may need to reconnect more than once.
