Learn how to set up a Zebra DS2208 wired and DS2278 wireless barcode scanner for QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale 19.0.

After you set up your wired or wireless Zebra barcode scanner, you can add your inventory to Point of Sale and start making sales. Here’s what to do.

How to set up a Zebra barcode scanner

To get started, hook the USB cable from the barcode scanner holder to a USB port on your computer.

  1. From Point of Sale, go to File, then select Hardware Setup Wizard.
  2. Select the Bar code Scanner tab.
  3. Select the Bar code scanner attached checkbox, then select the Scan UPC box.
  4. Using the bar code scanner, scan any UPC code to make sure the scanner’s working. If the scan is successful, you’ll see the UPC code.
  5. Select Leave.

Note: The Zebra barcode scanner is not pre-programmed with a return carriage. To add a return carriage, scan the following barcode using your barcode scanner.
