Summary

Learn how to authorize Intuit as your third-party agent (TPA) so we can pay and file your unemployment taxes in Vermont.

Does this apply to you?

This applies only if all of the following are true:

  • You have employees in the state of Vermont.

  • You use Intuit QuickBooks Workforce or Assisted Payroll.

If you don't have employees in Vermont, this article doesn't apply to you — check with your state's labor department for its own TPA process, or see Related articles below once state-specific versions exist.

Overview

Vermont has introduced a new Third Party Administrator (TPA) process. All Vermont employers on QuickBooks Online Payroll or Assisted Payroll must authorize Intuit as their payroll agent with the state before we can pay and file unemployment taxes on their behalf. We submit the request — you approve it.

How the authorization works

  • What we do: We send the TPA authorization request to Vermont first.

  • What you do: Sign in to Vermont's Employer e-Services portal and approve the request within 10 days.

If you use QuickBooks Online Payroll

  3. Confirm the request shows PayCycle, Inc. as the requesting agent, then approve it.

  4. After you approve, we activate your e-services.

If you use Assisted Payroll

  4. After you approve, we activate your e-services.

After you approve

Once you approve the request, we activate your e-services and begin paying and filing your Vermont unemployment taxes.
