Replicate a Campaign
by Intuit•2• Updated 2 months ago
Use the replicate option to create a copy of a campaign in your account. When you replicate a campaign, we duplicate both its content and its settings.
In this article, you'll learn how to replicate different types of campaigns.
Before you start
Here are some things to know before you begin this process.
- In most cases, it's better to reuse an email template instead of replicating an entire email. Replication is best saved for when you want to resend an email to people who didn't open it the first time.
- Don't use Social Cards with replicated campaigns, as they may display content from the original campaign.
- We recommend that you replicate only the original version of a campaign. If you replicate a copy, some content and settings may not carry over.
- It's not possible to change the campaign type of a replicated campaign. For example, you can't replicate a Regular email and turn it into an RSS campaign. To change the campaign type, save the existing campaign as a template, then create the type of campaign you want. On the Template step, choose the template you saved.
Replicate a regular, plain-text, A/B, or multivariate email
To replicate a regular, plain-text, A/B, or multivariate email, follow these steps.
- Click Campaigns, then click All campaigns.
- Click the drop-down next to the email you want to copy, and choose Replicate.
In the email builder, make any changes you'd like before you publish.
All replicated versions are saved on the Campaigns page and display the name of the original email, followed by (copy ##). You can edit the email name in the builder.
Replicate a customer journey email
Customer journeys are included with the Essentials plan or higher. You can replicate customer journey emails and journey maps.
To replicate a customer journey email, follow steps 1-3 in the Replicate a regular, plain-text, A/B, or multivariate email section.

Replicate a classic automation
Classic Automations are only available to accounts that have previously created a classic automation. When you replicate a classic automation, it will copy the settings and emails.

- Click Campaigns, then click All campaigns.
- Click the drop-down next to the automated workflow you want to copy, and choose Replicate.
- In the Replicate Automation pop-up modal, select an audience from the drop-down.
When you replicate a workflow that requires certain data, like e-commerce or audience fields, we’ll only show audiences that meet those requirements. - Click Next.
Continue through the automation builder and make any changes you'd like before you start your workflow.
- If you enabled Salesforce or Capsule tracking options in your original classic automation, you'll need to select those again in your replicated automation.
- Certain single-email automations can't be replicated. This includes the abandoned cart email, product retargeting email, and one-click welcome automation.
Replicate a social post
Replicated social posts copy your pages, profiles, and content from the original social post. Social posts that were automatically published with emails can’t be replicated.

In the social post builder, make any changes you'd like before you publish.

Replicated pages have the same content, page title, URL, and associated store or audience as the original.
To replicate a landing page, follow these steps.
- Click Campaigns, then click All campaigns.
- Click the drop-down next to the landing page you want to copy, and choose Replicate.

Replicate an RSS campaign
RSS Campaigns are a Classic Automations feature. Classic Automations are only available to accounts that have previously created a classic automation.
When you create an RSS campaign to share blog posts with your subscribed contacts, it's considered the parent campaign. Each resulting RSS email your subscribers receive is a child campaign.
You can view and replicate both parent and child RSS campaigns from the Campaigns page, but the process to replicate each is different.
- When you replicate a parent RSS campaign, you copy the RSS merge tags and send settings for that campaign.
- When you replicate a child RSS campaign, you create a copy of the child campaign's content, from that particular date and time.
Replicate a parent RSS campaign
To replicate a parent RSS campaign, follow these steps.
- Click Campaigns, then click All campaigns.
- Click the drop-down for the RSS parent campaign you want to copy, and choose Replicate.
In the email builder, make any changes you'd like before you publish.
Replicate a child RSS campaign
When you replicate a child RSS campaign, you'll produce an exact copy. The replicated copy will open in the email builder. If you change the template or access the Design step, your replicated content will be replaced with default template content. Move directly to the Confirm step to leave your content intact and send to your subscribed contacts.
To replicate a child campaign, follow these steps.
- Click Campaigns, then click All campaigns.
- Find the RSS parent of the child campaign you want to copy, and click Sent Campaigns.
- Click the drop-down next to the child campaign you want to copy, and choose Replicate.
The replicated copy will open in the email builder.
