Using QuickBooks Online Advanced reporting tools Fathom and Spreadsheet Sync

With QuickBooks Online Advanced, you have several options for creating custom reports. You can use QuickBooks Online's report functions, visual presentation tool Fathom, or Excel-based Spreadsheet Sync for spreadsheet reporting.

  • With Spreadsheet Sync, you can upload and download QuickBooks Online Advanced information and use customizable templates for formatting your data.
  • With Fathom, you can customize detailed charts and graphs for presentations or dashboards.

Spreadsheet Sync lets you pull current QuickBooks Online Advanced data into a formatted spreadsheet and create pivot tables you can segment with slicers.

It includes the following report templates:

  1. The Sample Management Report includes 3 formatted spreadsheets:
    • Trial balance
    • Balance sheet
    • Profit & Loss (standard)
  2. The Smart Profit & Loss includes one spreadsheet for showing P&L data in detail.
  3. Other QuickBooks Online report templates include:
    • Budget Overview
    • Budget vs Actuals
    • Statement of Cash Flows
    • Inventory Valuation Summary
    • Vendor Balance Summary or Detail
    • A/P Aging Summary or Detail
    • Customer Balance Summary or Detail
    • A/R Aging Summary or Detail
    • Expenses by Vendor
    • Sales Reports by product or service, class, or customer

Fathom is a visual presentation tool with more than 50 templates for showing:

  • KPI tables and KPI trends  
  • Financials (including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements)
  • Financial Trends

Data is downloaded from QuickBooks Online into a My Companies page in Fathom where you can access settings, analysis, reports, and forecasting tools.
