Manage your Inventory by deleting duplicate items that were unintentionally added to your list of items.
Possible reasons why items were duplicated:
- Items were imported following an incorrect import process.
- This also could have happened during the initial setup of Store Exchange in which both Headquarters and Remote Stores each had their own inventory
If the items were already duplicated, you may either:
- Restore the most recent back-up copy of your company file.
- Delete the duplicate items.
- Merge the duplicate items.

Solution 1. Delete duplicate items
It is better to delete duplicated item if there are no transactions associated on them.
- From the Inventory menu, go to Item List.
- Highlight the duplicate item.
- Click the I Want to... drop-down, then choose Delete.
- On the confirmation dialog box, click Delete.
Solution 2. Merge the duplicate items
This is applicable if there are transactions associated with the items.
- From the Inventory menu, go to Item List.
- Locate and highlight the duplicate items.
- Click the I Want to... drop-down, then choose Merge Items.
- Keep the original item, then select the duplicate under Remove this duplicate item.
Note: If there are transactions under two items, they will all become under the item that will be kept. - Select Merge Items.
