Promote a Product with New Product Announcements

The New Product Announcement feature is powered by Intuit Assist—our GenAI-powered marketing assistant. New Product Announcements use the latest goods and services from your online store to design an AI-generated promotional email. After you add new products to your Shopify or WooCommerce store, use the New Product Announcement feature to share them with your customers.

In this article, you'll learn how to create a product announcement email after new products are added to your Shopify or WooCommerce store.

Before you start

Here are some things to know before you begin this process.

• New Product Announcement is a beta feature that will be released to a small percentage of Mailchimp users.
• This beta feature is available to customers with a store on one of the following platforms: Shopify, WooCommerce, Squarespace Commerce, Stripe, BigCommerce, Magento, or Square. Visit the Integrations page to see if you have a store connected to your account that uses one of these platforms.
• We recommend that you review the additional terms for Content Generator Beta before sending an email with generated content.
• This feature is included with the Standard plan or higher.
• Your account’s primary mailing address must be located in the United States.

AI Consent

Without limiting the scope of the acceptable use policy, you agree not to use Generative AI to:

1. Create or send any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, vulgar, obscene, defamatory, pornographic, invasive of another’s privacy, or is otherwise objectionable;
2. Create or send any content related to alcohol, tobacco, weapons, cannabis, vaping, health, or financial advice;
3. Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent an affiliation with a person or entity (or create or send any content that does so);
4. Use or attempt to use Generative AI (or Inputs or Outputs) for any purpose that is in violation of any applicable law, would create any legal obligations or liability for Mailchimp, or is otherwise an infringement on the rights of any person or entity;
5. Modify, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble or reproduce any of the Mailchimp licensed or owned software, systems, applications or components used; or
6. Use deceptive, misleading, or unethical practices that are or might be detrimental to Mailchimp or the general public, such as to disseminate misinformation and/or malware.

Without limiting any right of Mailchimp, we may immediately suspend or terminate your access to Generative AI or any content generated thereon.

How it works

The New Product Announcement feature is available after you’ve sent at least 5 campaigns, and have a Shopify or WooCommerce store connected to your account. Choose 1 of the 7 most recent products added to your store and have an email draft built for you. With the push of a button, we’ll craft an email design that includes product info, customized content, and design styles thatmatch your brand.

Create a new product announcement email

To create a new product announcement email draft, follow these steps.

1. Click the Create button.
2. In the Promote a Product section, use the product drop-down to select the item you want to promote.
3. Click Create with AI.
4. Next, we’ll display up to 3 color palette starting points that you can choose from. If you’re not interested in 1 of the 3 options, click No thanks, I’ll choose my colors in the builder.
   

That’s it! Next, you’ll visit the email campaign checklist, where you’ll choose the settings and view your AI-generated content.
