Get paid through QuickBooks Bill Pay
Learn how to set up a free QuickBooks account to get paid through QuickBooks Bill Pay after a customer invites you to connect.
When one of your customers pays bills with QuickBooks Bill Pay, they can invite you to get paid directly through it. When you accept, you set up a free QuickBooks account, connect your bank, and start receiving payments — without sharing your bank details with anyone.

Why get paid through QuickBooks Bill Pay?
Stay in control of your bank information. Enter your bank details directly into the secure QuickBooks portal. Your customers never see your account information, and you can update your bank details anytime.
Get paid faster. Receive ACH payments directly to your bank account in 2–5 business days, instead of waiting 7–10 days for a mailed check.
Track your payments. Once a payment is scheduled, you get a notification and can follow its status — no need to check in with your customer.
Set up once, free. Your account is free to open. After setup, other QuickBooks customers can pay you through QuickBooks Bill Pay too — no extra setup needed.
What you'll need
Before you start, have these on hand. Setup takes 3 steps: accept the invite, create your account, and connect your bank.
The invite email from your customer.
Your business details, including your legal business name, physical business address, and business type.
Your personal details, for identity verification.
Your online banking sign-in, or the account and routing numbers, for the bank account where you want to receive payments.
Accept the invite
Open the Network invite email you received from your customer.
Select the link in the email to accept the invitation.
| Note: If you don't see the email, check your spam folder and add the QuickBooks sender address to your safe senders list.If you already have a QuickBooks account, sign in with the email address the invite was sent to, then accept the invite. |
Create your free QuickBooks account
Provide your business and personal details to create your network profile, then confirm your identity.

Complete identity verification.
Connect your bank account
Choose 1 of 2 ways to connect the bank account where you want to receive payments:
Sign in securely with your online banking credentials.
Enter your bank account and routing numbers manually.
| Note: If you enter your bank info manually, you might see 2 small test deposits from QuickBooks in your account. These are for verification only — you don't need to do anything. |
You're all set
Once your account is set up, your customer can pay you directly through QuickBooks Bill Pay. You'll receive an email notification each time a payment is scheduled, so you always know when a payment is expected.
You now have a QuickBooks Business Network profile. Other QuickBooks customers can pay you through QuickBooks Bill Pay anytime — without you sharing your bank details again. If your business is visible in the network, other customers can also find and connect with you. You can update your deposit account or manage your network connections anytime.
