Federal EIN or state ID is incorrect on liability Check Memo line

The account number displayed on the Check Memo line on the liability check reflects an old or incorrect account number.

Expected Outcome

The correct account number will be displayed on the liability check memo line.


You have an active payroll subscription.


To resolve this issue:

  1. Go to the Vendor Center.
  2. From the list of vendor names, double-click on the name of the recipient of the liability check.
  3. In the Edit Vendor window, click the Additional Info tab.
  4. In the Account Number field, enter the correct tax ID number. This field overwrites any value derived from other areas of QuickBooks.
  5. Click OK.
