Federal and state labor laws when using QuickBooks Time

SOLVEDby QuickBooks1Updated December 15, 2022

When considering certain automatic settings within QuickBooks Time, such as break insertion or timesheet rounding, note that you are responsible for these choices, and that some may not comply with federal or state labor laws.

Federal and state labor laws often require employers to pay for any time it requires or permits the employee to work regardless of whether that time is scheduled or approved. When deciding whether or not to select these types of settings, we recommend that you consult a labor/employment attorney in your country. If you're in the US, you also might want to check the US Dept of Labor's website and your state's labor laws.
