Manage your Credly account for ProAdvisor Academy

Learn how to manage your Credly account for ProAdvisor Academy.

Credly is the platform where you can download your badges after completing a certification. Manage your Credly account to showcase your ProAdvisor Academy certifications and simplify badge management.

Note: You can use one Credly account to accept badges for multiple ProAdvisor Academy profiles. However, you can’t cross-download badges. Badges earned in Profile A will only appear in Profile A.

Create a new account

If you’re accepting a badge in ProAdvisor Academy for the first time, sign up with Credly. Make sure to use the same email address linked to your QuickBooks Online Accountant. Otherwise, your badge won’t show up on the account.

Update your email address on an existing Credly account

  1. Sign in to Credly using the original email address.
  2. Select the Main Menu ☰ icon, then select Settings.
  3. Select Add an email address.
  4. Enter your new email address, then select Add. This sends a confirmation email.
  5. Go to your email’s inbox and open the confirmation email.
  6. Select Confirm My Email.
  7. Go back to Credly and refresh the page.
  8. Select the Email options ⋮ icon to the right of the new email address, then select Make default.
  9. (Optional) To remove the old email, select the Email options ⋮ icon and select Remove email.
    Note: If you keep both emails on the Credly account and have a ProAdvisor Profile linked to each, you can accept badges for both profiles using the same Credly account.

Merge 2 Credly accounts

If you created two separate Credly accounts but only need one, you can merge them in your Credly settings.

Note: Merging accounts doesn’t let you transfer badges between profiles. You’ll use a single login for both profiles, but badges will remain on their respective profiles.

  1. Sign in to Credly.
  2. Select the Main Menu ☰ icon, then select Settings.
  3. Select Merge an account.
  4. Sign in to the account you want to merge. This generates an authorization code.
  5. Select Next.
  6. Go to your email’s inbox and open the email with the subject Merge your Credly accounts.
  7. Copy the authorization code, then paste it into the corresponding field in Credly.
  8. Select Confirm.
    Note: You’ll see a message stating, “Once the merge process is complete, you will no longer be able to access the account.” Review your accounts to make sure you’re merging the correct ones.

If you linked your ProAdvisor Academy profile to an incorrect Credly account, please contact support for help. There are no self-help options available at this time.
