Before you start:

Resolve "Error: POS got stuck"

Choose the solution appropriate to your POS setup or situation.

You have QuickBooks POS on one computer

  1. Create a backup then restore to a different file backup files in QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale.
  2. Run Verify Data utility then compress Data Base.
  3. Perform a clean reinstall for QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale.
  4. Test in a New Windows User (Windows 10 or Windows 8/7).

You have multiple computers with POS and you get the error on the server and all client computers

  1. Check Network Speed.
  2. Create a backup then restore to a different file backup files in QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale.
  3. Run Verify Data utility then compress Data Base.
  4. Perform a clean reinstall for QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale.
  5. Test in a New Windows User (Windows 10 or Windows 8/7).

You have multiple computers with POS and you only get the error on the server

  1. Create a backup then restore to a different file backup files in QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale.

You get the error when accessing your Item List

  1. Remove the Tax Code Column in the Item List.
  2. Create a backup then restore to a different file backup files in QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale.

You get the error on the server or client when attempting to open POS

  1. Perform a clean reinstall for QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale.
