Error 175131: The License number for this store isn't in HQ Store File Exchange

SOLVEDby QuickBooksUpdated 1 year ago

When attempting to process in a store exchange at a remote store, you see the following error:

Error code 175131: The License Number for this store is not in HQ Store Exchange file, processing canceled

You will get this error when the Error folder (C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks Point of Sale XX\StEX\Error) contains an old exchange file that has another installation license number attached to it other than the one that is set in your company preferences.

To resolve this

Solution 1: Check the configuration of the license number from Headquarter's company preferences

  1. From the  File menu, choose Preferences, then select Company.
  2. From the left navigation pane, select Multi–Store, then choose Store Exchange.
  3. From the Configuration tab, specify and configure the license number.
  4. Select each store number, choose Configure and verify the license number.
Note: If it shows a different license number, edit it to the correct the license number from configuration window then hit save.
  5. Retry the store exchange process.

Solution 2: Delete all the .QBT files on your computer

  1. Ensure Display hidden files and folders on your computer is enabled.
  2. Go to the file location:
    • Windows 10 and 8
      1. Select the Windows logo, then choose File Explorer.
      2. Go to: C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks Point of Sale XX\StEX\Error.
    • Windows 7
      1. Select the Windows Start button, then choose Computer.
      2. Go to: C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks Point of Sale XX\StEX\Error.
  3. A file with the extension of .QBT will be listed in this window. Right-click the file, choose Delete and confirm.
  4. Close the window and send the mailbag again.
