Add the locations where you conduct your business so you can select which to use for sales, billing, shipping, and holding stocks. Then, run reports by location to check each one’s stock level, sales, purchases, and more. This helps you get clearer insights on your business trends and needs for each location.

Add a new business location

Follow these steps to add a new location.

  1. Go to ⚙ Settings, then select Company details.
  2. Select the Locations tab, then New Location.
  3. Enter the business location’s address.
  4. If you plan to hold stocks in this location, make sure to select Hold stocks.
  5. Select Create.

If you need to, you can still change the details of a location.

  1. Go to ⚙ Settings, then select Company details.
  2. Select the Locations tab.
  3. Select the location you want to edit.
  4. Make your changes.
  5. Select Save.

When you delete a location, your transactions stay the same. The locations you delete still show in your reports and are marked as archived. If there’s a location you no longer use or want to track, here’s how to remove it from your list.

Step 1: Prepare to delete the location

Before you remove a location, here are a few things to check.

  • Check if it’s assigned as the default stock location to any customer or sales channel. If it is, go to that customer or sales channel and change the default location.
  • Make sure it doesn’t hold any stocks. If it does, move the stocks to a different location.
  • Check for any open sales order. If there is, you can complete the order first, or void the transaction.

Step 2: Delete the location

When you're ready, follow these steps to delete a location.

  1. Go to ⚙ Settings, then select Company details.
  2. Select the Locations tab.
  3. Select the location you want to delete.
  4. Select Delete, then Yes, Delete Location

If you don’t see the delete button

This means the location you want to delete is set as the primary location. Here's how to change your primary location first.

  1. Go to ⚙ Settings, then select Configuration.
  2. Check if the primary location is what you need to delete. If it is, change it to the right location.
  3. Select Save changes, then try to delete the location again.

Next steps: Manage your sales and inventory by location

After you set up locations, you can now start to fulfill sales orders, restock items, make stock adjustments, and run reports by location.
