
Correct invoices created without sales tax

Learn how to correct invoices you created without sales tax in QuickBooks Online.
If you forgot to add sales tax to an invoice, you can customize a report to show invoices with missing sales tax. Correct your invoices to get accurate records for accounting and tax purposes.

Step 1: Identify which invoices need sales tax added
Follow this link to complete the steps in product.
- Enter Transaction List by Date in the search field.
- From the Report period ▼ dropdown menu, select the correct date range.
- Select Columns, then select Tax Amount.
Step 2: Add sales tax to an invoice
For each invoice that needs sales tax added:
- From the list of results, select an invoice that has no sales tax.
- In the customer form, under the Tax column, check the box.
- Select a sales tax rate.
- Select Save.
