Add inventory tracking to your subscription

Learn how to add inventory tracking in QuickBooks Online Simple Start and QuickBooks Online Essentials.

You can now create sales orders, purchase orders, and discounted shipping labels in your QuickBooks Online account. This helps you track what’s on hand, get restock alerts, and view insights about what you buy and sell.

Add inventory tracking

Here’s how you can add inventory tracking to your subscription.

  1. Go to the Inventory tab in the navigation menu.
  2. Select Subscribe now.
  3. Select Subscribe.

Once you’re done, all the necessary settings automatically turn on. Now, you can set up your inventory and track it.

Note: When you connect a sales channel, make sure to turn on “Track inventory for sales channels” in Account Settings. That setting stays on after your setup.

Cancel the inventory add-in

You can cancel the inventory subscription at any time. You can still access your inventory in read-only mode, but can’t make changes.
