Pre-file check helps you review your total sales for accuracy before you file your sales tax return, so you can catch and fix differences ahead of time.

What Pre-file check does

When you open Pre-file check, it:

  • Compares the income on your profit and loss report with the total sales on your sales tax return.

  • Shows you where those two figures don't match.

  • Lists the specific transactions contributing to the difference.

  • Suggests how to resolve each flagged item.

  • Lets you ignore differences that you've confirmed are valid.

Pre-file check doesn't change your transactions automatically — you choose what to update.

What Pre-file check doesn't do yet

Pre-file check currently focuses on confirming your total sales. It doesn't yet flag detailed sales tax calculation issues — that's planned for a future update.

Why this matters

Reviewing your numbers with Pre-file check before you file can save you time compared to manually comparing reports, and it helps you catch and fix issues before they end up on a filed return.
