Welcome to the Community, PipLaSalle.

Yes, QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2019 is compatible with at least macOS 10.14 (Mojave) and higher version, including 32 and 64 bit.

You can check out this article that will provide more information: System requirements for QuickBooks 2019 and Enterprise Solutions 19.0.

I'm also linking our QuickBooks for Mac 2019 User's Guide to learn some various tasks within the program.

Please let me know if you have further questions. I'm always happy to step in and lend a hand. Have a great day.

How about Catalina? So hard to find any info and not going through the same nightmare I did with Mojave!

Hi, Fostermfgcorp.

QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2019 isn't compatible with macOS Catalina. This is the first version of macOS to support 64-bit applications.

You can refer to the article shared by my colleague above about the System requirements for QuickBooks 2019 and Enterprise Solutions 19.0.

Please don't hesitate to post again here anytime if you have other concerns.

Re: 2019 QuickBooks for Mac compatibility with Mojave or Catalina ?

Hello, Eric.

For now, we're unable to give a specific turn around time as to when QuickBooks 2019 for Mac will be compatible with macOS Catalina.

Intuit doesn't longer support QuickBooks Desktop 2016 and 2015 on the new macOS Catalina.

Users who wish to utilize QuickBooks Desktop for Mac on the new macOS Catalina must upgrade to the latest versions of QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2019 (R7) or 2020 (R2 or later) to keep away from risks of data loss or crashes related.

Click here for more information about the risks of attempting to run QuickBooks on macOS Catalina.

If you have other concerns, you're always welcome to post anytime.

I need support for macOS Catalina...

Does Intuit not have a developer account with Apple? This OS update has been available to developers for months, I'm a developer and have been updating my applications to support the new OS so my end users are not inconvenienced when they update. Why is it that Intuit can not do the same for their business customers?

Re: 2019 QuickBooks for Mac compatibility with Mojave or Catalina ?

Hi @Kane Brands LLC,

As of this writing, the latest macOS supported by QuickBooks for Mac is Mojave.

The new macOS Catalina is scheduled to be released to the public today, so you can soon expect an update for the product to work with this new OS. You can visit this article for updates on the system requirements of QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

In case you require the steps to update your product, refer to this article: Update QuickBooks Mac Desktop. You'll see 2 separate sets of steps, one is an in-product update, while the other one is done manually.

I'll be around in case you have other questions. Post them below, and I'll get back to you.

Got this update this morning but haven’t upgraded to Catalina yet. Has anyone tried it and been successful?

If anyone could, can they post the QB Update information? I was looking for some info and can’t find any after updating earlier.

Re: 2019 QuickBooks for Mac compatibility with Mojave or Catalina ?

I had an error pop up when I signed into my QB 2019 tonight saying 2019 wasn't compatible with Catalina.  I have not updated to Catalina yet, but I have the notice on my MacBook that the update is ready to be installed.  I am hesitant to install it in case my QB 2019 stops working as I am a small business owner dependent on being able to use it.  In the error I got, it told me to go into the Quickbooks menu & check for quickbooks updates, which I did.  Then I got the following error message:

QuickBooks can’t be updated when it’s running from a read-only volume like a disk image or an optical drive. Move QuickBooks to your Applications folder, relaunch it from there, and try again.

The problem is that I opened it from the app folder but it thinks I did not evidently.  I tried shutting it down & reopening & trying again the update, but I just keep getting this same error.

Is this error appearing because what I'm understanding from this chat is that 2019 desktop mac QB has no version compatible with Catalina?  If so what do I do?  Just not update to Catalina until QB figures it out?  If I do update to Catalina, will I then loose access to my QB?

Please help!

Re: 2019 QuickBooks for Mac compatibility with Mojave or Catalina ?

Allow me to share some insights about this error, @ldog.

Usually, MacOS doesn't allow updating apps in the download folder. To resolve the problem, you may need to quit the application and use Finder to copy it to the Application folder. Since the problem continues after opening it from the application folder, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling QuickBooks for Mac using the clean install.

For the steps, you can check this article: Reinstall QuickBooks for Mac using clean install.

If you're getting the same experience, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop for Mac Support to check and investigate this further securely. For the support's contact information, you can check it here:

  1. Go to: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Choose your QuickBooks Product.
  3. Select your QuickBooks version.
  4. On the Contact Us page, click a topic.
  5. Click on the Get Phone Number button to see the support number.

You can also read our help articles for your future reference: Help articles for QBDT for Mac.

Keep posted if you have any other questions. I'll be happy to help!

Re: 2019 QuickBooks for Mac compatibility with Mojave 10.15

So NO we do not have the ability to run QBP and no it's not easy to uninstall a Mac OS... also the intuit developers had this in beta to build the 64bit version of this app for almost half a year.

Do you have any idea how many Mac users have auto-update turned on. Who did the cost + analysis on screwing over your clients verses paying to upgrade this software?  They nailed it...

Intuit at least owes EVERY an email with a status and an apology.

www.bbb.org if anyone else if interested in holding intuit responsible.
