A window pops up in Windows 10 saying "Save Print Output As" every time I try to print a check. It will not let me print. What can I do?

I can close the window, but it goes back to the print window, and does the same thing when I try again.  Any suggestions?

I appreciate you letting me know what steps you've tried to fix the issue, donpesnell.

I'm here to help you print a check in your QuickBooks. The recent configuration of the system setting may be one of the factors why you're getting the pop-up message.

To help you resolve the printing issue in your Windows 10 PC, we need to set your printer as a default. Here's how:

  1. Press Windows key and type Control Panel.
  2. Click on View by: and select Large icons.
  3. Open Devices and printers.
  4. Right-click on your printer and select set a default printer.

I'm confident you'll be able to print the check after these steps. However, if you need further assistance, just let me know.

I have tried your recommendations and it did not work

1. I reinstalled the printers.

2. I did the troubleshooting feature

3. I checked AND double-checked that I had the proper printer selected... NOT "save as pdf" or anything like it.

4. I did set the printer I wanted to use as 'default'.

No matter where I try to print from now, it still brings up the 'save' window instead of just printing.

Thanks for keeping us updated, mikelim.

Good job for performing all the Windows 10 printer troubleshooting steps. It's also best to update your printer to get the latest bug fixes. I'd suggest reaching out to Microsoft so they can give further advanced troubleshooting steps on how to get rid of the issue you're currently experiencing.

Keep me posted on how this works. Take care and have a great day!
