Although I can get into my Quickbooks when going through the browser, I can't get into my Quickbooks through the downloaded program. I get message: 504 Gateway Time-out

I've tried clearing my cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the Quickbooks program, rebooting the computer, but nothing works.  I just prefer working on it separately from the browser so I would like to get this fixed.

Although I can get into my Quickbooks when going through the browser, I can't get into my Quickbooks through the downloaded program. I get message: 504 Gateway Time-out

I finally was able to fix it on my own.  Instead of clearing the cache on my browser, the Quickbooks app has it's own cache built into the program.  Once I cleared it and reset, I was able to get back into the offline app.  Thank you God!

This error will persists once a cache is piled up. Since you've done the basic troubleshooting steps, yet the same thing happens, it would be best to reach out to one of our Phone Support Team. They can look up your account and can investigate this issue further. Here's how:

 

  1. Log in your account through this page: QBO Login.
  2. Click the ? Help icon, then click Contact Us.
  3. Enter 504 gateway as your keyword.
  4. Choose how you'll want to contact our support.

 

In the meantime, you can access your account using a web browser.

I finally was able to fix it on my own.  Instead of clearing the cache on my browser, the Quickbooks app has it's own cache built into the program.  Once I cleared it and reset, I was able to get back into the offline app.  Thank you God!

Didn't realize that Quickbooks has it's own cache separate from the browser.  Once I emptied it and reset everything, I was good to go.
