Uncheck “require server verification option and close and apply
Go to Privacy tab.
Uncheck pop-up blocker option

Close Internet Explorer and reopen as administrator.
Log into QuickBooks online
In search bar, type the name of the QuickBooks online company you want to export data from
Click on the customer name in the search results
Click on the “Bookkeeping” Tab
Click on the QuickBooks icon on the right
Once inside the QuickBooks company, edit the URL
Replace “homepage” with “exportdata”
The process should work normally from this point:
Click “learn more” link under “Moving to QB Desktop”
Click “Learn more” link under “Download Company Data”
Click get started
Install ActiveX control then click continue
Select “All Financial Data” and begin the download.
It will say that you will receive an email when the download is ready.
Make sure QuickBooks Desktop is open
Once the download is ready, follow this process again this point and click the “Download” Button, then again on the next page.
Save the file to your C: Drive so it can be easily opened in QB Desktop
Click “Convert Now”, choose the name of your QB company in Desktop
QuickBooks Desktop should load your company and a prompt will open.
Select “Yes, Prompt each time”
Select “Continue” then “Done”
Complete any remaining prompts and the process should be complete
Make sure to compare a Balance Sheet and Income statement in QB Online to Desktop to ensure the data transferred completely.
Hope it helps.

Hi Candice,
I have a client that has QB online, but it is quite limiting for her needs. So I want her to convert from online to QB desktop non profit. Would Quickbooks do the conversion?
Bas Shevy Miller
Your client can process the conversion, @basshevy.
Let me provide you the actions to be taken in converting a QuickBooks Online file to QuickBooks Desktop.
All you have to do is purchase the QBDT version that will suit your client's needs and then install it on your device.
Once done, you can now start export data. This can be done using the supported browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari. Beforehand, know that there are limitations when you convert your file, including the attachments, audit trail, and recurring transactions.
Here's how to export them:
If you're unable to export your data, pulling the direct URLs from Chrome to Internet Explorer will route you to the correct page. Use the following link to initiate the download: http://qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt
You can always visit this page: QuickBooks Desktop. Then, click + More topics at the bottom of the window. This lets you see all the topics on how to efficiently manage your income, expenses, inventory, and your desktop company file.
If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to reply back. Have a wonderful day!
Contact us should need to purchase a 3rd party migration service from QB Online US to QB Desktop US. You will pay once we have converted the data successfully.
You have clicked a link to a site outside of the QuickBooks or ProFile Communities. By clicking "Continue", you will leave the community and be taken to that site instead.
