Can I send a backup file created in Windows to my client that has a MAC

Hi lynne-roszkowski. There's actually a tool built into QuickBooks for doing this. Here's an article with the steps on how to convert QuickBooks Windows to QuickBooks Mac. Here's the steps to convert the file to mac format as well:

  1. Open the file as the Administrator
  2. Go to the File menu, then select Utilities. Select Copy Company File for QuickBooks Mac, then follow the onscreen instructions. QuickBooks will create a MAC.qbb (backup) file.
  3. You’ll see a message that says "It looks like ‘QuickBooks for Windows’ might be a better fit for your company," You may want to go over what data isn't supported in the article above.
  4.  Name and place the file where you would like it to be located, and select Save. Don't use special characters in the name

Now that you've created the file, you can send the file to your client to be opened in their QuickBooks Mac version. Let me know if there are any other questions.
