Hello there, Shredbeat.
I'd like to verify if you received an error when you tried to connect Network for Good to Quick Books Online so I can walk you through from there. From the linked attached by our AllStar, you can start connecting by logging in to the Donor Management System. Then, click Settings and select QuickBooks Online.
I'd also suggest getting in touch with the Network for Good customer support so they can help you successfully integrate your system into QuickBooks. They'll also help you troubleshoot with any errors you might be prompted to.
For more details on how to manage your QuickBooks Online account, you can check out our Community Help Articles.
I'm just here if there's anything else that you need help with. Any additional information is much appreciated. Thanks in advance and you take care always!
Thanks for getting back! My Non Profit, Shared Beat (SB), uses Quickbooks Online (QBO) hosted by Right Network (RN). We recently, in August, signed with Network for Good (NFG) to use their excellent Donor Management Database and protocols. I did what you outlined above, but the process instead of finding our account, tried to sign me up as a new customer, but we're already one as I noted.
I contacted RN and they stated that due to the hosted environment, I cannot synch to the QBO they are hosting due to security issues they say. I chatted with an Intuit person who could not help.
So, my question is, what are my alternatives?
My home infrastructure is:
iMac, using Microsoft Remote Desktop to access RN in a PC environment and QBO for PCs. From here, I can do all my QBO tasks. In this environment, I accessed NFG to try and link to QBO, but with no success.
Is it even possible to link in a hosted world...isn't this the nature of an "Online" version of QB? Do I need to be on a "PC" and if so, could my QBO be accessed directly without hosting?? Someone out there must have figured this out, or Intuit and NFG would not have made this possible.
Again, any help you may have to make the link possible would be great as I'm stuck at this juncture!
You can use a third-party to integrate with QuickBooks Online, @Shredbeat.
This is the alternative I can recommend for you to connect your hosting to Right Network. You may consider using one of our hosting programs. Click on the links below for the details:
Also, you can access QuickBooks Online on your PC even without hosting. QuickBooks Online automatically backs up your data with the same level of security used by banks and financial institutions.
Meanwhile, I'll be adding this great Community resource in case you've got other QuickBooks concerns such as setting up payments, managing your income and expenses, running reports, etc. Please refer to this article for more details: Community help articles.
Stay in touch if you have any follow-up questions. I’ll be around to assist you. Take care and have a great day!
You are using QB Desktop hosted on a QB cloud hosting, not QB Online. NFG only supports QB Online. You may have 2 options:
1. Switch to QB Online to integrate with NFG. You may contact Techsoup to get a special subscription price. Otherwise purchase it with current discount.
2. Explore this app to integrate with QB Desktop
Ask RN to install and integrate it with your QBD for free on their cloud platform. Otherwise explore other QB cloud hosting provider to manage your license and data file(s).
