Go to the Help menu.
Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
Click the Update Now tab.
Select Get Updates to start the download.
When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks.
Then accept the option to install the new release when prompted.
Once done, you can now create a backup company file of your QBDT. If you’re still unable to do so, I recommend running the Verify Rebuild utility tool. This tool easily identifies and resolved issues within your company file.
