Good day to you, @caravan1.

Let’s work together and isolate this issue. I recommend updating your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) software from your old computer to its latest release. This way, we’ll ensure your software is up to date and pack with the newest features and fixes. Let me guide you how:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Click the Update Now tab.
  4. Select Get Updates to start the download.
  5. When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks.
  6. Then accept the option to install the new release when prompted.

You can also read through this article for more details: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

Once done, you can now create a backup company file of your QBDT. If you’re still unable to do so, I recommend running the Verify Rebuild utility tool. This tool easily identifies and resolved issues within your company file.

Let me also add this article that you can utilize for future reference: Create and open portable company files in QuickBooks Desktop. This link can guide you on how to send your file via email or move to a USB flash drive.

In case you have other concerns about creating a backup company file of your QBDT, you can always tag me in your reply. I’d be more than happy to work with you again. Have a great day!
