Join nowproduct: QuickBooks Premier Edition 2018 multi-user. An update was installed. Now we cannot email from 2nd computer. We can still email from Admin comp. We use Outlook email. This is the message we receive when we attempt to email "QuickBooks cannot complete the current action due to a missing component." Is there a QuickBooks repair that we can subscribe to? Is there a QuickBooks expert that we can pay to fix this problem? This is costing us money. The second person cannot send estimates.
Hello, leeandbob2.
There are several reasons why you've encountered the missing component message. A program component might've been damaged or the second computer has file or network issues.
You don't have to subscribe to a repair service or pay an expert. I'll provide the following solutions free of charge.
You can run the QuickBooks Tool Hub to fix the missing component error message. Follow the detailed steps in this article: Fix company file and network issues with QuickBooks File Doctor.
Another solution you can do is to repair MAPI32.dll (a component needed for emailing from Outlook). Here's how:
Other solutions can also be found in this article: How to fix "Error: QuickBooks is unable to send your email to Outlook".
After doing the steps above, go the second computer and email an estimate.
Ready to create invoices from those estimates you've sent? This guide can tell you more about the process and workflow: Set up and send progress invoices in QuickBooks Desktop.
Do you need help with other process in QuickBooks Desktop or do you have other questions? Let me know in the reply section below. I'm here to help.
So here is the issue I get when I try to find the fixmapi.exe you suggested. It gives me 2 options one is a fixmapi, (C:\Windows\System32) this is an application that just will not open for me and the other is a fixmapi.exe (C:\Windows\System32\en-US on internet explorer and it is some kind of MUI File that takes me to nowhere. Both of these say that they have been Modified, but it was at odd times of the night when I am not on my desktop. Please help me....I don't know where to go from here.
Thanks for the prompt response, @leeandbob2.
I appreciate you performing the solution provided by my colleague, and updating us about the outcome of the steps. Since the issue persists, let's try to repair the software.
Repairing QuickBooks can fix any program-related issues or errors. Then prepare the QB Desktop installation CD or download the installer from the website and follow the steps below:
Once done, open QBDT and send an email to the second computer. If you're getting the same results, I highly recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. They can further investigate what's causing the system not to send email to another computer.
Here's how to reach them:
Also, make sure to update the QuickBooksDesktop so you have the latest version.
