I just purchased (downloaded) QB desktop 2021. When I attempt to Create a new company an oversized drop down appears that cannot be navigated or change size. I can't answer questions because it won't scroll and the full image does not fit on the screen. I checked that my laptop display settings are "recommended". The only way I get the oversize dropdown off the screen is to click "Esc", this takes me back to the No Company Open dropdown where I would select a file or create new. Cannot create new on this new download.
I cannot use this product. What can I do?

Thank you for the comprehensive suggestions. FYI, I did proceed through each and did not find a solutions (before my message). I ended up adjusting the Display settings on my laptop so that the drop down was accessible (visible in my screen), I could then populate the data. Afterward I changed my Display settings back to the recommended (HD) settings. All good.

This is to make sure your QuickBooks Desktop is compatible with the setup to start to activate the software. This could be the reason that you're unable to create a new company.
