Com Error when trying to send invoice via email

Hi all!

We have a client who is trying to send out invoices via email - and all other workstations except one, it works.  On the workstation that is having issues, Quickbooks ends up throwing a "com error" and shuts down.

Any ideas on resolving this?  Google searches have proven unhelpful.

Thanks in advance!

Com Error when trying to send invoice via email

Hi DT3Media,

I'm glad that you have been able to isolate the issue to one workstation, that could make the rest of the process of fixing this much easier.

The issue seems like it is being caused by an interruption of QuickBooks and the process that is used to communicate with Outlook, I suggest that you start by making sure that QuickBooks is up to date. It is possible that the software is still waiting for its turn to install an update, which could affect stability.

If that does not work for you, I recommend performing a clean install of QuickBooks on that workstation which will reinstall the link between QuickBooks and MS Office.

Com Error when trying to send invoice via email

Keith shared the workaround for CRASH: COM error

if a customer email/ print a transaction, always open the email system (yahoo, gmail/outlook) that you have > once customer email / print> it will process> let the blue circle (tier going around and around) for 2 minutes > COM error shows and a second box for COM error would show> DON’T DO ANYTHING > after 4 minutes or so it may log you out on QB, just log back in. try to email/ print the transaction and it should go thru
