My client uses QB Premier 2020 multi-user on a Windows 10 computer.
Can the company file be centralized onto a shared file server device, such as WD MyCloud?

The ability to centralized company files to a shared file server won't work. Since you need to set up the network and database manager, I suggest checking for a hosting provider supported by Intuit.

Afaik, the product is designed for backup purpose or disaster recovery center. You may have 2 options:
1. Deploy a private cloud at your premise.
2. Utilize an authorized QB cloud hosting.
