Hi jwhitford,

You'll just have to click on the sign in link in your new QB account and enter your credentials. That way, your newly installed QB software and Intuit Data Protect will get synced and activated. You can also check this guide article for more details on how to set up Intuit Data Protect (IDP) to back up file.

That doesn't take me to a sign in screen; it opens a window that wants me to choose monthly or yearly payment with a button beside each.

Re: Data Protect 2019 data protect

Thanks for getting back to us, sjones-wbc

I'm here to guide you to the right support so you can get the help you need.

I appreciate you for following the recommended steps provided by my colleagues. Since your QuickBooks Desktop comes with the Intuit Data Protect (IDP) service, you'll need to contact our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. They need to activate first the IDP service on your account, so you'll be able to sync it to the QB software.

Here's how you can contact our care support:

  1. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help from the Help menu.
  2. You can also press F1 on your keyboard to bring up the same Help Panel
  3. In order to route you to the correct support expert, we need to know what type of question you have.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. We’ll provide you a few options. You choose which one is best for you.

Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have additional questions about the IDP service. Have a good one.
