I am having trouble finding an export that is Mac compatible to convert my data from Online to QB Desktop. To convert from my desktop to Online was easy peasy. But now I want to go back and am having a difficult time :/

I tried to export into Excel, however my QB Desktop can not find the file. The only other exporting option that I see must be used on Internet Explorer which isn't possible for the Mac version...

Help!!

Hello @Angkor Sales,

You can convert your company data from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop (Windows) before you can convert it back to your QuickBooks Desktop Mac.

Let's start from exporting your company data from online to desktop. To do so, you'll have to download a trial version of QuickBooks Desktop (Windows) first. Once done, here's how you can export your data:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Tools, select Export Data.
  3. Select Moving to QuickBooks Desktop.
  4. Click Get started.

Here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can convert your company data from online to desktop: Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.

Once your company data is ready to download, you can open it in the rial version of your desktop (windows) and follow the steps below to convert it back to your desktop (Mac).

  1. Go to File.
  2. Select Utilities.
  3. Click Copy Company File for QuickBooks Mac.

I've got you this helpful article to learn more about how you can convert your company data from desktop (Windows) to desktop (Mac): Convert a QuickBooks for Windows file to QuickBooks for Mac.

I've got you our help articles in case you need some ideas, especially with QuickBooks navigation and daily tasks recording: QuickBooks for Mac.

@Angkor Sales

There is no direct path yet converting QBO to QBD for Mac. You have to migrate to QBD Windows as a bridge. If you hit the wall, consider purchasing a 3rd party migration service. It costs $450 for 2 working days.

Just my 2 cents.
