Did QBO just update? As well as the desktop app for Mac? I'm now having problems, are there bugs or am I missing something in the change?

When I add a new tab, it kicks me out and asks me to log-in again.  I love the multiple tabs feature, it allows me to save my favorite functions that I use regularly.  Any update when that bug will be fixed?

Thanks for sharing with us the details of what you have experienced. This will help me identify what the possible cause of this issue is.
 

I've tried using multiple tabs in QuickBooks Online and haven't logged out automatically. One of your tabs might be idle more than 3 hours or depending on the "Sign me out setting." I can show you where you can check and change it.

  1. Log in as the Master Admin of the account and go to the Settings or Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings and click on the Advanced tab.
  3. In the Other preferences section, then click on the Edit or Pencil icon.
  4. Locate the "Sign me out if inactive for" click on the drop-down button to choose the idle time.
  5. Select Save and Done. This is how it looks like:

If you're still encountering the issue before the estimated logout time, you can perform a browser troubleshooting steps. Over time the accumulated data will become obsolete and can cause this odd behavior on the program.
 

First, you can use an incognito browser to verify if that the data is the cause of this issue. If it worked after using a private window, you can go back to the regular browser and clear the data in the browser's cache. If it's still not resolving it, you can use an alternative browser

 

Here are the keyboard shortcuts to access a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Hold down + Option + P
  • Mozilla Firefox & Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
