Downloading payroll from a purchased disc

I am trying to download payroll from a purchased disc set that included QB Pro 2019 & Payroll Enhanced. It is not letting me update my 2018 payroll to the new 2019 payroll.

Downloading payroll from a purchased disc

Payroll updates are delivered via the internet, not the QB program disc.

Downloading payroll from a purchased disc

Hello there, @SandyW.

Welcome to the Community family. I can help you update QuickBooks payroll to 2019.

There are a few things you need to check to successfully update the payroll tax table on a Disk Delivery service.

First, update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. This can improve the program's functionality and fix known issues.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Click the Update Now tab.
  4. Check the box for Reset Update.
  5. Click the Get Updates button.
  6. Click OK when prompt to continue.
  7. Click OK when prompted to accept the option to install the new release.
  8. Close the Update QuickBooks window.
  9. Restart QuickBooks.

To manually update QuickBooks, just refer to this article about updating QuickBooks to the latest release: https://community.intuit.com/articles/1769196.

After which, repeat the steps in installing a payroll tax update from a CD. You may also follow the detailed steps in this article and also you may use this when getting payroll updates using an internet connection: https://community.intuit.com/articles/1763158.

That information should install payroll 2019 updates. Let me know how things go once you've tried the above steps. If you have other questions, just leave a reply on this thread. I'm always here to help. Have a nice day!
