I'm getting the same error and I'm seeing some other posts about it as well.  Hopefully, they will see the increase in activity about this issue and address it today.  Bad time of the year for QBO payroll issues!

I've tried using a different browser, incognito window, clearing cache and then rebooting.  Nothing's fixing it.  Some else was having the same issue (post in FB bkkpr group) and she was on a Mac.  Once she switched to a PC she no longer had the issue.  I'm on a PC.

I am having the same issue while trying to print payroll reports.   QB Help does not seem to be open on Sunday's.  This is frustrating!

I've tried PC app, PC online and Mac Online.  With the Mac I don't get the error message, however it still won't let me access previous payroll data that I need to complete my quarterly taxes

Same Issue.  No one seems to be responding with a resolution.

This is a huge Thumbs down for QBs.  It's Quarter/year end crunch time and I do admin work on the weekends and don't really have time to do this work thru the week.  I need QBs to work when I'm working.

Currently having the same issue on desktop version.

Tried online, tried uninstalling then reinstalling desktop version etc.

Can't print out payroll checks, bad bad.

Re: Error in extras bootstrap [TypeError: Cannot read property 'child' of undefined]What the heck...

Hello, everyone.

Thanks for alerting us with the error message you've encountered. We don't want to see our customers inconvenienced especially it's tax season.

Let's try a few steps to fix the error.

Try to open QuickBooks Online using an incognito window and pull up the payroll forms/reports from there. If you're able to do so without encountering the error message, go back to your main browser, and clear the cache. Too much data/cache is one of the main reasons for the system's unexpected behavior. Clearing it is the first thing we need to do if we encounter website issues.

Additionally, using a different browser fixes issues like this (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox).

If you need more help, just get back to this thread. We'll be here to help you further.

I did all of those things yesterday and it still would not work.  However, I am able to print reports today without getting the message.

Re: Error in extras bootstrap [TypeError: Cannot read property 'child' of undefined]What the heck...

Like Amanda, I too tried all those fixes.  Luckily, since this has happened before, there were older threads suggesting these same remedies.  I got the error in Microsoft Edge browser, Chroms, Chrome Incognito, cleared my cache and restarted, tried using the desktop QBO app - still got the error.   Someone else in a QBO FB group said that she was able to get in when she switched from Mac to PC, yet another commenter above said they got in by switching from PC to Mas (that makes no sense).

For now, there is no error this morning.  Let's hope it stays that way until Friday.

Re: Error in extras bootstrap [TypeError: Cannot read property 'child' of undefined]What the heck...

I feel confident that it was not my system having the issue.  There were discussions on FB and quite a few comments here in this community forum from people who were having the same problems.  So, I hope you are able to forward the information to the QBO team so they can be aware that there was an issue yesterday.  They may already know, but it was widespread and not fixable with the normal methods so there was definitely something else going on...

Re: Error in extras bootstrap [TypeError: Cannot read property 'child' of undefined] What the hec...

Hello there, @Bkkprgal.

We received several reports from other users like you who are having this error. If clearing the cache and using a different browser didn’t fix the issue, I recommend giving our Customer Care Team a call for further assistance.

They can pull your account in a secure environment, which we are unable to do so in this public forum and gather data to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

Here’s how you can contact support:

1.    Go to https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
2.    Choose QuickBooks Online.
3.    Select a topic twice.
4.    Scroll down and click the green Get Phone Number button to get their contact information.

That should do it. Please let me know how the call goes. I’ll be on a look out for your response.

We're glad that the was resolved, David.

If you happen to encounter the same problem in the future, you can do browser troubleshooting steps to fix it:

  1. Use a private browser.
  2. Clear the cache storage of your regular browser.
  3. Use other support browsers.

If the browser troubleshooting steps don't work, you can reach out to our QuickBooks Customer Care Team. You can use the steps that KhimG provided earlier.

Have a great day!
