Error message when editing customer detail - accessing or saving data

I try to change a customer to a sub-customer and consistently receive the following message:

"Something’s not quite right
An unexpected error occurred while accessing or saving your data. Please wait a few minutes and try again. If the problem persists, contact customer support."
It used to work in the past.

Error message when editing customer detail - accessing or saving data

I'm glad to see you in the Community, acp.

Let's sort out why you're getting errors when changing a customer to a sub-customer.

I've looked into this further, and didn't find any reported issues related to yours. You may experience this type of behavior when there’s too much data stored in your browser.

To determine if this is a browser-related issue, let's perform the browser troubleshooting steps. First, log into your QuickBooks Online using a private browser or Chrome's Incognito Mode.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts for each brower:

  • For Internet Explorer or Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If this works well, it's possible that your main browser is filled with cached data, which slows down the performance of your account. To keep this from happening again, you'll need to clear your browser's cache.

If none of these suggestions work, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Customer Care Team. They also have the tools to thoroughly trace the root cause of the issue and make sure you can seamlessly change a customer to a sub-customer.

That's it. Keep me posted if you need help working in QBO. I'll be around to assist you further. Have a great rest of your day.

Thank you for your help. I tried this with all three browser :-) and cleared my main browser's cache.  I still get the same message. :-(
