Has anyone else had issues connecting BNP Paribas with QBO since Feb 15th? Have you found a resolution?

Hi there, tushar-hefa.

For now, we haven't received any reported cases about connection issues with BNP Paribas into QBO.

There are reasons why you're unable to connect your bank. Please see the listed below.

  • Your bank has multiple names on our list. Make sure you have selected the correct listing or have tried all possible links. Search by the banking sign in URL to ensure you are using the correct listing.

  • Your bank does not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs business accounts).

  • Your bank is not a participating financial institution. If you still can't find your bank, use the Request support for your bank option and ask us to add your bank.

To sort the issue in connecting your bank, I suggest trying other versions of your financial institution that are listed.

Here's how:

1. Click Banking at the left panel.

2. Hit the Add account button.

3. Look for the name of your financial institution.

4. Search for your financial institution and select it from the list.

5. Choose the link for your bank's website and another page opens for the bank's website.

6. Make sure you can access your account through this site by verifying that you can see your account summary, account history, and account details.

7. If you can access the account successfully, sign out of the financial institution's website and continue to add the account in QuickBooks Online.

If the issue persist, I suggest uploading the transactions manually to ensure the account is up-to-date. Please check this article on how to perform the steps: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

You may refer to this article on how to review your bank and credit card transactions after you download them into QBO to avoid duplicate entries: Match and categorize bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

To help you further in your issue, can I ask if you receive a specific error when connecting your bank so that I can assist you to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns. Wishing you and your business continued success.

We have connected through QBO for BNP transactions for well over a year using the same link.  Starting on Feb. 15th, the connection has been broken.  Perhaps the issue is the link you guys are using as when I copy and paste that link into my browser, it does not work.  See below for the URL.

I appreciate the details that you gave, @tushar-hefa.

To get this issue sorted out, I recommend contacting your financial institution to help verify if they haven't created modification with their bank connection with QBO. The system is only dependent on the information and links that are provided by your bank.

If they haven't created any development with the links, you can contact our Customer Care Team so they'll be able to further isolate why you're unable to connect your bank with QBO.

You can reach them through this contact details:

  1. Click on Help at the top menu bar.
  2. Hit on the Contact Us button.
  3. Enter a brief description of the issue in the What can we help you with? box.
  4. Press on Let's talk.
  5. Select on Get a callback.
  6. Key in your contact details, then tap on Confirm my call.

However, if the bank made some changes with their connection, you may request for bank support so you can connect with Online Banking again.

To do that:

  1. Click on the Banking.
  2. Select Add account.
  3. Search for the name of your financial institution. If QuickBooks is unable to find your bank, you will get the message, "Hmm, we can’t find [name of the bank you entered] in our list of supported banks," and you will be presented with helpful tips to try and locate your bank account.
  4. If you’re still unable to find your bank, select Request support for your bank.
  5. Enter your bank's web address (URL) in the field provided, then select Request.

To give you more details about Online Banking in QBO and on what to do if the financial institution no longer integrates with QBO, please see this link: Find your bank account when you connect to online banking.

I'm just a reply away if you need anything else. I'd be happy to help. Have a great day!

I have the same issue with BNP. I have copied and pasted the URL and I have no news since then. I even have a ticket opened with QBO but no news so far... Please resolve this as soon as possible as I cannot keep track of payment and account receivables anymore.

Thanks

What is the lead time to resolve this issue because it has been since Feb 15th and it has been almost 3 weeks that it does not work?

The manual upload does not work for me as I have several bank accounts already linked to my QBO. I would appreciate a quick resolution of this issue or I would have to switch to another provider.

this issue has not been resolved still. I talked to QB a couple of weeks ago and the rep told me that there were only 4 persons with this issue, I guess it will never be resolved...

Hello there, @LucS.

Our Engineering Team has informed us that the connection to BNP Paribas isn't possible due to the bank not being a US bank. With this being said, you can manually import your bank transactions. After you import your transactions, you can continue with reconciliations and your other tasks.

If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate and reach back out to me. Have a beautiful day.

Hello,

Before Feb 15th, BNP was not a US Bank and yet it was working... BNP has subsidiaries in NYC and when you type BNP in the "add account" under the banking tab you have 4 choices for BNP websites, how do you or your engineers explain that?.... (i did another quick search and I see HSBC (Hong Kong Shangai Bank Corporation (not US) and Credit Agricole (French))

Please give me an honest response if you choose to fix the problem or if I need to change my provider but I can't stay in the current situation

Hello there, @LucS.

I recognized the importance of having the connection back up and running for your BNP Paribas account. The automatic download can saves business time and can help you perform other tasks.

Our engineers are all hands on deck working towards finding a permanent solution about the connection issue. Since the company is already included in the notification list, you’ll receive an email once more information is available.

Rest assured, I’ll update this thread once there’s progress about the investigation. This way, other users will know how to resolve the connection issue.

In the meantime, continue to download transactions using the Web Connect feature. This is to ensure you’ll have a copy of the new entries.

For future reference, I’m adding a link that can help keep your bank feeds organized and populated with the latest transactions to review: Tips for Working in QuickBooks Online’s banking connection.

Reach out to me if you have any other concerns or questions about QuickBooks. I’ll be right here to help and make sure you’re taken care of. Have a good one.

May 27th, BNP is still not supported and we need to download all the transactions.... 3.5 months that the issue was signaled and QB does not do anything. Shame on you customer support....

June 10th and BNP is still not supported by QBO. I do not think that it will be ever supported again. Quickbooks does not care about requests by a few clients... This is sad

July 22nd, BNP is still not supported... At this point, I am not sure that we will be able to link to a BNP account. I have been told that the engineers are working on it by QBO customer support people. I do not think that this is true....

Welcome back, @LucS.

I understand the urgency to have your BNP bank account link to QuickBooks Online (QBO). Please know that we depend on the number of requests and will coordinate with the bank to get this supported in QBO.

This process will take a little bit longer since both parties should agree on the terms and conditions. In the meantime, you can manually upload your bank transactions in QBO. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu and select the appropriate bank where you’re uploading the transactions.
  2. Select File upload from the Update drop-down.
  3. Click the Browse button and choose the file that you’ll be downloading.
  4. Click on Open, then Next.
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions. Match the columns on the file with the banking fields in QuickBooks, then select Next.
  6. Click on Let's go. QuickBooks will now add the transactions to your account.

I'm adding this article for more details: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
