Have Quickbooks for Mac 2013 and installed Os X Sierra yesterday without knowing my Quickbooks isn't compatible. What can I do to access my Quickbooks data? Options?

Will an update be released that will allow me to access/use my Quickbooks 2013? If not, is there a way I can upgrade to a newer version of Quickbooks and somehow import the data that is in my program file folder, since I can't open Quickbooks to create a backup?

What are my options here?

You can upgrade to 2016 and open your company file and it will convert. You can download the trial version and use it for free for 30 days from qblittlesquare.com. I believe there is some promotion happening that may enable you to buy it at a discount. 2013 won't be upgraded to work on Sierra though.

Thanks for your help! I downloaded the trial version to make sure everything would import, which it did. Then I purchased the full version at the discount ($30 less than sale price on Amazon digital download). Thanks for your quick response.

I downloaded sierra not knowing the incompatibility problem with qb 2015. So I just purchased and downloaded qb 2016 but cannot import the qb 2015 files. What do I do?

You don't import it you open it. Use file>open company or the browse option from the no company open window and navigate to your company file.

Installed version is QB 2015...sorry I don't know what R6 means. I, just today, upgraded and downloaded QB 2016 after installing Sierra.

You have the wrong application open, there is no R7 in QB Mac 2016. QB 2015 is on R7.

If you have purchased QB Mac 2016 you should be on R6 to launch and run on the Sierra OS. QB Mac 2015 will not launch and/or run on Sierra until Intuit releases the update.

If you have QuickBooks Mac 2007 then the newer versions will read the 2007 files. You can test this for free by installing the Trial of 2016 from www.qblittlesquare.com
