Hello! I have error H505

Hi Raul Castro.

If you're seeing Error H505, that means one or more of your workstations is set to be the server for QuickBooks. Your server should be the only computer set to host multi-user mode.

The Host Multi-User Access option should be turned off on your workstations. These are the computers connected to your network that don’t host your company files.

Note: Follow these steps prior to opening a company file.

1. Open QuickBooks on any station where you see H505 error.

2. Instead of opening your computer file, select the File menu and hover over Utilities.

3. If you see the Host Multi-User Access option, that means this station isn't causing the problem. You can move on to the next station.

4. If you see Stop Hosting Multi-User Access, go ahead and click it.

5. Repeat these steps on all workstations where you see Error H505

After you check your workstations, move on to your server computer. This is the computer that normally hosts your company files.

1. Open QuickBooks on your server computer.

2. Open the File menu and hover over Utilities.

3. If Host Multi-User Access is one of your options, select it. If Stop Hosting Multi-User Access is an option don't select it.
