How can I restore or add back a deposited item to my checking account that was accidentally deleted?

I'm new to QBO, was looking at the check register, clicked the link in the right-hand column. Not sure what I did but the item is now gone and will not download again from the bank when trying to update.

How can I restore or add back a deposited item to my checking account that was accidentally deleted?

Hello @rbernard,

When a transaction that was accepted from the Bank feeds is deleted, it will return to For Review this transaction will need to be re-added.

Here's how:

  1. Select Banking on the left navigation menu.
  2. Locate the deleted deposit and select Add/Match.

When the deposit was manually made, you’ll want to remake it. If you need information about the deposit, you can review the Audit Log for more details.

Here's how to check it on the Audit Log:

  1. Select the Gear icon.
  2. Click Audit Log.
  3. Under Events, you will see Deleted Deposit for the item.
  4. Select View, under History, for the deposit.
  5. From here, you can review the details for the transaction.

I'll get back to you if you have other questions. Have a great day!

Let's get this sorted out, @cutter425200.

You can recreate the deleted deposit with the same information shown on your discrepancy report. Let me guide you how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account and click the + New button.
  2. Choose the correct form (invoice, sales receipt, expense, etc).
  3. Fill out the form and click Save and close.
  4. Next, go to the Accounting menu and select Chart of Accounts.
  5. Look for the account that you put the created deposit into and click View register.
  6. Find the transaction and select it to expand the view.
  7. Continuously click the box in the checkmark column until you see an R (reconciled). This manually reconciles the transaction.
  8. Click Save. If you still see an alert, simply open the discrepancy report. The deleted transaction may still be on the list, but the difference should be $0.00. It won't affect your reconciliation.

For your reference, feel free to open this article: Fix issues for accounts you've reconciled in the past in QuickBooks Online.

You can also pull up a reconciliation report that you can save to serve as a reference to avoid reconciliation issues in the future.

I'm always around if you have any other QuickBooks-related concerns. Don't hesitate to post again here. Have a good one.
