I can help with converting this file. With some of the later releases of QuickBooks Desktop, this feature is readily available to help make the switch. Go to the File menu, then select Utilities. Select Copy Company File for QuickBooks Mac, then follow the onscreen instructions. QuickBooks will create a MAC.qbb (backup) file. You can bring this to your Mac computer and restore the file there. If you don't have this feature in your current QuickBooks, feel free to use our trial version. We also have some more details about converting a QuickBooks for Windows file to QuickBooks for Mac. I'm also available to help if you happen to have any questions.
Should you have a Windows machine, try converting your data file of QB 2011 to QB 2020. Utilize the trial license of Pro 2020 to do so and convert it to data file of Mac 2020. Frankly, I am not sure you are able to convert the file directly fom 2011 to 2020 with one big jump.
Another option, purchase a 3rd party file conversion service.
I also want to switch over to QB Mac 2020 desktop. I use QB 2011 on an older iMac running Parallels with Windows 7. I cannot upgrade OS, QB , or to Windows 10. It is starting to give me issues and sometimes it will not open. I create a backup every time and I am good with a PC version . When I put Mac Desktop on my new iMac running Catalina , will I be able to do the PC conversion into Mac? Or do I have to do the COPY COMPANY FILE FOR QUICKBOOKS MAC first. I only ask as I am never sure now if my QB will open as there has been some odd compatibility issues with these older versions. I have used QB on a Mac in the past so I know what I am getting into. I just don't want to buy yet another Imac and get QB Mac 2020 desktop if there will be issues importing my 2 company files. I only used PC version years ago because I needed payroll, now I don't . Sorry for long question! I could also do the COPY COMPANY FILE thing every time I back up , just in case?? Thanks...
